Upgrading to Postgres 3.5

Postby lowkee00 » Sat Dec 13, 2008 1:16 pm

I want to purchase Table Shark but it won't grab my pokertracker omaha database. I am currently using postgres 8.2.6 and I was told I must upgrade to 8.3.5 in order for Table Shark to work.

What kind of steps do I need to take in order to upgrade to 8.3.5 so I don't lose my PTO database and mess something up? Thank you.

I haven't tried upgrading to v8.3.5 so I don't know if there are any special steps and I don't know when I'm going to get a chance to do it. Just make sure you first backup your v8.2.6 data using the Utilities > PostgreSQL Database Functions window before you do anything and you should be OK install v8.3.5. You should be able keep v8.2.6 so do not uninstall it. Just set up a new port number for the 8.3.5 database using Utilities > PostgreSQL Settings... and use that for the new database.
