Poker Tracker OMAHA database issue

Postby damadsetta » Thu Oct 23, 2008 11:43 pm

The last time I went to compact my database, it had an error message and shut the program down. Now, every time I try to reopen the program, it says "Could not find file C:\Program Files (x86)\Poker Tracker Omaha\ptracko.mdb" The top of this box says "ODBC Microsft Access Driver Login Failed". I click OK and it brings me to a Login screen with the Login name set to admin. I put in any password and the same previous message pops up. I then hit cancel and an error message comes up saying "unable to connect to database". I try to bring my stats up then, it has 0 of my hand histories, but when I go to click on open a database, it says it si already open. SO lost, any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a file called ptracko_backup.mdb in your Poker Tracker Omaha folder? If so, with PTO closed rename the ptracko.mdb file to ptracko_bad.mdb. Then rename ptracko_backup.mdb to ptracko.mdb. Then start PTO again.

Now, a login screen shows up when I open PTO, and no password works. When I click OK, it says unrecognized database format, with the path to the new ptracko.mdb file. Pleas ehelp!

Try repairing the database using these steps:
1. Start / Settings / Control Panel / ODBC Data Sources or if you use XP or
Start / Settings / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / ODBC Data Sources
2. On the window that opens, click the System DSN tab.
3. Click on the entry PTRACKO and click the "Configure..." button.
4. Click the "Repair..." button on the next window.
5. On the next window that pops up, ptracko.mdb should be highlighted but if it's not, select it and click OK.

If that doesn't work rename the ptrack_bad file back to ptracko.mdb and follow the same steps.

If that doesn't work have you made any other backup files recently?

When I go to System DSN, there are no options to click unfortunately. I also just realized that the file I changed to "ptracko.mdb" has a size of 0 kb. This is bad I assume.

Do you have any .mdb files that are larger than 0 kb? If so what are they named?
