False positive alarm with Virusscanners?

Postby HeinBloed » Sat Jul 26, 2008 8:28 pm

Hi,

some hours ago my firewall told me that the PAHud.exe had been modified, so I ran a virus scan on it (with AntiVir) which reported "traces" of CC/Agent.KW. I then used the online scanner at http://www.virustotal.com/ which resulted in 6 "suspicious"/signature matched results.

My questions: Was there recently released an update to PA (I'm using it regularly so the modification detected by the firewall must have occured in the last 24 hours or so) and/or can I ignore those alarms as false positives?

P.S.: I'm not the only one affected by this, on a different poker forum there were quite a few people in the last 2 days saying AntiVir reported a virus in PAHud.exe.

Virus checkers occasionally get a false positive about PT and PAH due to the security they use. There hasn't been an update to PAH for a while. You can send the PAH download to your virus checker company to get it verified.
